Last one installed to replace my older models. No problems so far.
I purchase these to replace my 18 year detectors made by this company hoping it would be a simple replace. The connection cord was different and mounting plate was also different. However it was a simple swap. Took about 10 minutes to do both.
The installation went very easy. Wiring was simple. Test noise is loud.
Thanks to USI (Universal Security Systems, Inc) I was able to replace my failing CO and Smoke detectors within a few days. Ordering online from USI was easy. I was able to pick the perfect replacement for my previous CO & Smoke detectors such that I did not have to replace the ceiling base or VAC connector. The order was processed and sent promptly and tracking information was sent to my email address. I subsequently ordered and extra one as a back-up for my 3rd detector which has a limited life left. Thanks again USI...Job well done!!

This smoke detector is a perfect fit for the older one in my home that had exceeded it's 10-year life span. With the help from a Universal customer service rep I was instructed how to remove and replace the base plate on my ceiling, then simply plug in the new unit and attach it to the new base. Easy to do and the unit works as intended. I believe this is the 3rd one I have purchased from Universal and will continue to do so as the older ones wear out!

Replaced original home's AC powered smoke alarms. Easy to wire and mount. Like the triple sensor and 10 Year backup battery.

Replaced five 8 year old smoke detector with this new model. Very simple and took about 10 minutes as they had the same connections as the old ones.
Have had in place for a full year now, definitely an improvement over the Kidde detector located outside our basement bathroom that would detect steam falsely as smoke. Yellow interconnect wire goes to house red wire ... just remember white to white and black to black and yellow to whatever is left. Love the idea of never replacing the battery, hope that holds true.
This new model had a different base plate from my old model but it was easy to replace. I love the fact I wont have bird tweets when the 9 volt battery runs out which it constantly did. Quick service and good technical tips from Nickole
We have had our new USI combo hard wired alarms installed for over a month now and we couldn't be happier! After YEARS of false alarms from our First Alert combo alarms, most often in the middle of the night with no perceptible triggers, we had grown weary and anxious. We decided to install new alarms and researched and found USI discussed in Consumer Reports. These alarms work well but have not been constantly triggered by shower steam from the bath or smells/smoke from cooking or a spider crawling on the lens. I'm finally able to go to sleep at night without anxiety that a false alarm will wake the whole house. The alarms DO work - when I really scorched something while cooking the alarm did go off - and was much easier to silence than our old ones. I'm glad I will not have to remember to replace the batteries every six months. My electrician asked me to let him know if they are good so he can recommend them to other clients so that's my next step. Meantime I can recommend them to anyone reading this review - they were money very well spent! I read that something like 70% of house fires involve disconnected fire alarms because people get tired of false alerts - save your family from potential tragedy by invested a few extra dollars not really, when you count the savings from a permanent battery in these excellent USI combo alarms.

Excellent product. Easy to install. Great customer service. One alarm didn't work because the activation tab was somewhat pulled out. I called the company and a new one was immediately shipped to me.
